Tom Collins has been a leader in the real estate community for much of his 40-year career. For 20 years, he served as Executive Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s New England Area leading over 120 real estate professionals at the company’s offices in Boston, Hartford and Manchester.
When Tom left the firm in 2014, New England Area revenue had grown to more than 20 times its 1994 benchmark, and Cushman & Wakefield was ranked first or second annually in comparison to its top competitors.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Tom acquired investment real estate for First Winthrop, Liberty Real Estate, and The Langelier Company before joining Fowler Goedecke Ellis & O’Conner (FGEO) in 1986. At FGEO (now HFF), he worked with developers and investors to source both debt and equity and assisted the firm’s clients in structuring complex joint ventures as well as buying and selling real estate.
Tom has held leadership positions at both industry and community organizations throughout his career. He is past President of the Commercial Brokers Association and served on its Board for a number of years. He also served on the Board of Directors of both the Greater Boston Real Estate Board and NAIOP Massachusetts. Tom is a member of the International Coach Federation and it’s New England Chapter.
Tom has been on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance for more than a decade and currently serves as its Chairman.
